Hudson Valley Sally is rooted in the tradition of activist folk music - an unending chain that goes back centuries and spans the globe. The group is dedicated to keeping alive some of the oldest songs, and introducing some of the newest. In fact, each set typically includes some songs more than a century old and some less than a year old. While harmonic patterns and rhyme styles have evolved over the decades, Hudson Valley Sally is not afraid to experiment with tradition. Their goal is to make the oldest songs sound fresh, and to make the newest feel like you've always known them.
