Join New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee Marc Black for “A History of the 1950s and ’60's through Popular Song,” a musical tour through these two historically defining and colorful decades. You’ll re-experience the essence of this volatile and colorful time, from Roy Rogers and the Cold War to Wooly Bully and Be In’s. All while singing along to songs as diverse as “Itsy Bitsy, Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini” and “Blowin’ in the Wind,” by artists ranging all the way from Dean Martin to George Harrison.

In addition to the music and conversation, this popular multimedia program features a slide show that’s sure to slide you right back in time. And Marc will perform his own group’s Top 40 hit from 1967 when they toured with the Doors, Neil Diamond and Van Morrison. Their song was “Happy” and his group’s name was the Blades of Grass.

Matt Gross and Kathryn Kitt, Matt ’n Katt, will add a sparkle to the evening with an opening set that’s sure to be heart warming, passionate and witty. Matt is just coming back to performing after he and his band were victims of a lone gunman on the Empire State Building’s observation deck! His indomitable spirit and Kitt’s classically trained voice will help create an ambiance, and an evening you won’t soon forget.
