Collaborative forces come together to bring back to the Towne Crier stage the "Can You Hear Me Now" Project. Created by world-class percussionist and producer Jeff Haynes and featuring the original material of Beacon's own Jacob Bernz, the evening promises to be a barrier-breaking night of music taking from all corners of the musical spectrum including jazz, folk, blues, Celtic and many others. The performance will bring some of the Hudson Valley's most coveted musicians together for a night of open and creative music.

Jacob Bernz is a Beacon-raised Hudson Valley songwriter who began writing at an early age inspired by music of the NYC folk boom, by modern acoustic artists and by mentor Pete Seeger. By his teens he was a charter member of Clearwater's "Power of Song" group and running his own "Something To Say Cafe" as well as writing and playing original songs in venues throughout the area. Jacob has been fortunate to have shared the stage with many musicians he grew up listening to such as Arlo Guthrie, Tom Paxton and Tom Chapin. In 2015 Jacob released his first CD of all-original material entitled "Can You Hear Me Now," which has evolved into the “Can You Hear Me Now” Project.

Grammy Award-winning percussionist and producer Jeff Haynes has toured with Glen Hansard, The Pat Metheny Group, Al Jarreau, Lizz Wright, Harry Belafonte, Peabo Bryson and more, having toured and recorded with Cassandra Wilson for nearly 20 years. Wilson says, “He brings fire and heart to my music.” The Los Angeles Times hails his “Nonpareil solo and ensemble work.”
