Beacon-based folk historian and radio host Steve Blamires traces the musical legacy of American labor, and Cold Spring author Gretchen Dykstra makes it personal with readings from “In Frenzy’s Footsteps: A Walk Through History with the Grandfather I Never Knew.”

Presented in partnership with the American Center for Folk Music, of whose Board Blamires, Dykstra and Towne Crier owner Phil Ciganer all serve.

On view throughout June:
“Drawn to Life,” works by Joan Phares
The artist states: “The model moves into position while the artist's grip tightens on the implement of choice. The challenge is to capture the essence of the human before the alarm of the timer sounds "surrender". Armed with charcoal and pastels, this group of drawings illustrate my attempts to beat the clock and save the soul.
