Willie Nininger is an entertaining and versatile singer-songwriter-guitarist, well known for his extensive repertoire, spontaneous sense of humor and flat-picking guitar technique. His performances range from country, folk, rock 'n' roll and standards to theme shows including Irish, tropical, cowboy and international, as well as his own songs. Whether playing solo or with his band, Willie has a unique capability of adapting to, and interacting with, his audience.

A mainstay of the Greenwich Village Folk Scene in the '70s and '80s, Willie Nininger has MC’d and performed in the legendary Fast Folk Musical Revues and has played in clubs and concerts across the United States and Europe. Willie wrote and performed the title song for the compilation CD that inspired the still popular “On A Winter’s Night” concert tours.

Willie wrote songs for the “Captain Kangaroo Show” and kids’ TV “After School Specials.” He perennially won the Folk City Bob Dylan imitator contests, appeared on “Hee-Haw” and sang the National Anthem at Shea Stadium in New York and Comiskey Park in Chicago in the '70s & '80s. Willie has performed the Anthem at the New York Mets Citifield to an audience of 40,000 spectators and has kicked off a UCONN Huskies Girls Basketball game.

The New York Post calls Willie, “an all-smiling, downright charming performer who gets more enjoyment out of doing his musical thing than anyone else in recent memory.”

The Boston Herald said of Willie, “Nininger was hilarious in and between songs, displaying a sly and daffy wit.”

During visits to Europe in the early '90s, Willie gained such a following that he pulled up stakes and moved to Switzerland where he was based while playing and recording for several years. Equally successful there, he won the national Entertainer of the Year award.

Willie now resides in the United States where he performs extensively, while still returning to Europe each year for tours in Switzerland and England.
