All-star Woodstock band Professor Louie & The Crowmatix return to The Towne Crier. This special show will feature a night of roots rock material including, originals, blues – including their International hits “Open Hand Open Heart” and “One More Day” – and select songs from The Band repertoire that Louie helped create for The Band, including their comeback hits “Atlantic City,” “Blind Willie McTell,” the show will present a diverse song list from this stellar roots crew.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix have 15 studio CDs on The Woodstock Records Label and have consistently stayed on the RMR Contemporary Charts in the Top 50 for the past 20 years. They have been inducted in The New York State Blues Hall of Fame and hold a permanent place in The Canada South Blues Museum. They are recipients of the Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts from Common Ground On The Hill in MD.

Grammy-nominated all-star band Professor Louie & The Crowmatix began as the studio-backing band for Aaron “Professor Louie’s” musical productions for The Band. Rick Danko, bass player and singer of The Band, christened him “Professor Louie,” due to his work with The Band and it’s individual members.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix were playing150 shows a year in the US and worldwide, performing at the Thunder Bay Blues, London Blues, Windsor Blues Festivals, Falcon Ridge Festival, Sellersville Theater, Bearsvile Theater, BB King’s, House Of Blues, LA. Professor Louie has performed three times on The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix has emerged in the music industry as the torchbearer of the true spirit of American Roots Music. Louie collaborating with The Band for more than 15 years, co-producing their last three CDs in the ’90s.

Gary Burke (drums) performed with Bob Dylan’s The Rolling Thunder Review.
Miss Marie (vocals, percussionist, keys) preformed and recorded with Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson.
Frank Campbell (bass, vocals) Levon Helm’s music director with the Woodstock All-stars.
